Betfred chairman and Reds fan Fred Done previews Saturday's clash...
As one legend leaves, another returns…
This weekend sees Sunderland, along with United legend Roy Keane, come to Old Trafford in the quest for three points. At the same time, another United great, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, hangs up his boots and will get a fantastic send off from the Theatre of Dreams. It promises to be a fantastic occasion, so let’s hope the Reds put on a great show and bag the points.
It’s hard to look at anything other than a United win this Saturday, so you need to search out a bit of value elsewhere. I know I’ve mentioned him before, but Michael Carrick is looking strong and comfortable on the ball, so I fancy Carrick to score the first goal at 16/1. Remember, if you back any player to score the first goal at www.manutd.com/bet and they fail to bag one first but score the last goal, I’ll refund your money so you get another chance next week!
Another midfielder, Owen Hargreaves, is looking sharper and the fitness is getting there, so there could be value to be had in our score anytime market, where you can back Owen to score anytime at 11/2.
For those of you not wanting to take my advice and back Carrick to score the first goal, Carlos Tevez is a decent bet at 28/1 to score the opener in a 3-0 United win. The pessimistic ones out there may want to look at backing a Sunderland player to score first, as there are some very good odds in that market. And remember, if you place a scorecast on any Premier League game and you only get half of it correct, I’ll refund your stake. It’s got to be worth a try!
