England v Israel
2/7 – England to win
20/1 – Carrick first scorer
7/2 – HT draw, FT Eng win
This weekend sees a huge game for England with the visit of Israel to Wembley. With Lampard and Gerrard unlikely to both start, it could see the United midfield duo of Carrick and Hargreaves running the centre of the park.
England are clear favourites to win this fixture at 2/7, with a draw at 3/1 and Israel to win at 10/1. Personally, I expect to see a very cautious approach from McClaren’s boys, as usual, so a market that may be worth a few quid is the Half Time – Full Time double result betting. You can get 7/2 on a draw at half time and an England win at full time, so if you’re feeling nervous this may be the bet for you!
There’s United interest in the first goalscorer markets here, with Carrick and Hargreaves both priced at 20/1 for first scorer and Rio at 33/1.
Darren Fletcher’s Scotland are clear favourites to win against Lithuania. The Scots are priced at 1/3 for a home win. You can get 20/1 on Darren Fletcher to score the first goal at www.manutd.com/bet.
Other United players that may be turning out on Saturday include Cristiano Ronaldo, who’s Portugal team are odds on at 4/9 to dispatch the Poles, whilst Nemanja Vidic’s Serbia are another odd-on shot to beat Finland. John O’Shea’s Republic of Ireland are 7/4 to beat Slovakia in a big Group D clash.
I’m tipping up a treble on the Man Utd 7th Heaven bonus coupon this weekend, where you get enhanced odds for trebles or better. A £10 bet on France to beat Italy (5/2), Republic of Ireland to draw in Slovakia (9/4) and Northern Ireland to win in Latvia (5/4) pays £255.
