United will face AS Roma, Sporting Lisbon and Dynamo Kiev in this season's Champions League group stage, with the Reds kicking off their pursuit of the trophy on either Tuesday 18 September or Wednesday 19 September.
The six group matches will take place between 18 September and 12 December, with the final being held in Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on 21 May, 2008.
The Reds will come face-to-face with AS Roma once more having dumped them out of the competition at the quarter-final stage last season. United went down 2-1 at the San Siro in the first leg last April amid violent scenes off the pitch, but crucially brought an away goal back to Old Trafford courtesy of Wayne Rooney.
Rooney's fine strike proved incidental in the end as the Reds thumped the Italians 7-1, on a night Sir Alex Ferguson described as "the best ever European evening in my time at the club."
Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani face a return to their former club for the Reds' tie with Sporting Lisbon.
